Description:

The Registered Magnum was the first production arm chambered for the .357 Magnum cartridge and served as an influence on all later large caliber double actions. Built to customer specifications and registered to the owner by Col. Wesson himself, the 5,224 Registered Magnums made between 1935 and 1939 are virtually custom made revolvers and remain "state of the art" in handgun manufacture today. Standard barrel markings with "REG. 1971" stamped on the inside of the yoke, matching serial numbers stamped in the ejector shroud and on the butt and a small S&W trademark on the left side of the frame. Fitted with a raised Patridge front sight and adjustable target rear sight, with the top of the rib and top strap of the frame hand checkered. It has the original pinned barrel, counter-bored cylinder, and checkered hammer spur, serrated trigger and grip straps, and checkered walnut magna grips numbered "115432" on the back with S&W medallions.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. 97% plus bright original high polish blue finish remains with a drag line on cylinder, small amounts of edge wear, handling marks, and surface scratches. The undersize replacement grips are very fine with a few small indentations and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
