Only 5,224 Registered Magnums made between 1935 and 1939 are virtually custom made revolvers and remain "state of the art" in handgun manufacture today. Standard barrel markings with "REG. 824" stamped on the inside of the yoke, matching serial numbers stamped in the ejector shroud, rear cylinder face, and the butt and a small S&W trademark on the left side of the frame. Fitted with a raised beaded Patridge front sight and adjustable target rear sight, with the top of the rib and top strap of the frame hand checkered. It has the original pinned barrel, counter-bored cylinder, and checkered hammer spur, serrated trigger and grip straps, and checkered grips with S&W medallions.

Very fine. 80% plus original finish remains with some high point and edge wear, handling marks, light surface scratches, and a cylinder drag line. The replacement grips are undersized for the frame with some small indentations on the butt and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
