Manufactured in 1897. Single steel bead front sight on the solid matte rib barrels marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL", 2 9/16 inch chambers with extractor, choked full/full. The box lock action is scroll engraved with "PARKER BROS" and game bird scenes of partridge on the right and ducks on the left sides, and a pheasants on the underside. The engravings also extend to the trigger guard, recoil shields, break lever, and forearm hardware. The water table is marked with the patent dates and "2/235084/G". Double triggers and tang safety. Mounted on a checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip stock with checkered hard rubber grip cap, blank initial shield and a Parker Brothers "dog head" hard rubber buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .733/.731 inches; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .0485/.0495 inches; drop at comb 1 3/4 inches; drop at heel 2 3/4 inches; length of pull 14 inches.

Fine. The barrels have a mostly uniform aged brown patina with strong Damascus patterning, crisp rib legend, and some mild edge wear at the muzzle and breech. The receiver has a mostly silver/gray patina with small traces of original case colors in the protected areas, fine engraving, and a smooth gray patina on the trigger guard and tang. The wood is very good with well defined checkering, small handling marks, light surface scratches, mild pressure indentations, and good metal to wood fit. Mechanically excellent.
