The included collectors association letter states that the shotgun was finished and shipped on August 31, 1921 to Shapleigh Hardware Company of St. Louis, MO to complete order number 3,160. The letter goes on to confirm the frame weight, automatic ejectors, single selective Hunter One trigger, and beavertail forearm. The barrels feature dual white bead sights, 2 3/4 inch chambers, and full/full chokes. The casehardened side lock action features broad leafy scroll engraving with bird scenes of ducks on the right and quail on the left. Fitted with a multi-point checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with a tang mounted thumb safety and Old English solid rubber recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .725/.720 inches; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .047/.05 inches; drop at comb 1 3/4 inches; drop at heel 2 1/8 inches; length of pull 13 7/8 inches.

Very good with 80% of the original blue finish on the barrels and traces of muted case colors on the action mostly in protected areas. Displaying areas of mild edge wear, scattered small scratches and minor dings, handling marks, and scattered pin point spotting. The frame has aged to a mottled gray/brown patina with some spotting, handling marks, and sharp engraving. The wood is very good as altered with a lowered comb and shortened with an added recoil pad scattered small indentations, rich color, revarnished and attractive grain. Mechanically excellent.
