Manufactured in 1965, ahead of the BATFE's rolling 50-year definition of a Curio and Relic Long gun, with a proper arrangement of early AR-15/M16 features. 3-prong flash hider and a bayonet lug on the "12" marked barrel, with an elevation adjustable post front sight on the gas port assembly and a 2-leaf windage adjustable rear sight. The AR-15 nomenclature and Rampant Colt logo are present on the lower receiver, and the upper receiver is properly without a casing deflector or forward assist. The bolt carrier is properly devoid of serrations for the assist, with a chromed bolt head and a two-piece recoil buffer. Fitted with a vented triangular handguard, checkered pistol grip and a fixed buttstock with a rubber buttplate and no cleaning kit storage compartment.

Excellent, with 98% of the original phosphate finish, showing some light brown spotting on the dust cover and mild edge wear and handling marks. The stock is in similar condition. Mechanically excellent.
