The top of the barrel is signed "M Johannes" in script followed by a "O" over "V" symbol. The three stage barrel also has blade and notch sights with multiple bands at the transition points. A rib with two ferrules is mounted underneath. The side plate is heart shaped and engraved with "MJ." The trigger guard, toe plate, and buttplate are also engraved brass with scrollwork patterns. The L&R Durs Egg lock has also been engraved with matching scrollwork. The stock has a pewter forend cap, an olive tone stain, baroque carving, and attractive flame and spalted figure.

Fine. The barrel and lock have an antiqued appearance due to the brown finish being partially cleaned off and left to form a gray patina. There is also some very light surface spotting. The brass has a natural aged patina. The fine stock has some minor handling and storage marks and a minor tension crack on the left flat. It is mechanically excellent and has crisp markings, carving, and engraving. A ramrod is not included.
