Description:

The Marlin Model 1894 was manufactured until 1934 and was put back into production in 1969 updated for more modern handgun cartridges. This pre-1934 example is marked "721" on the bottom of the receiver and has the "bull's eye" stock inlay first used on walnut Marlin stocks in 1922. The barrel is equipped with a Rocky Mountain blade front sight and an adjustable sporting rear sight, and the receiver also has a folding peep sight. The barrel also has the standard address and patent markings as well as the caliber designation "38-40." The upper tang has "Marlin/MODEL 94" under the peep sight and a small star stamp.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel and magazine tube retain 85% of the slightly faded original blue finish while the casehardened components have mostly faded to honest gray patinas with traces of faint case colors. There is some light spotting throughout and mild pitting on the buttplate. The buttstock and forearm are both revarnished. The action functions fine and the markings are crisp.
