Manufactured in 1882, this Winchester Model 1873 rifle has the standard third model guide rail and dust cover. Equipped with a blade front sight and an elevation adjustable rear sight. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address/patent dates marking ahead of the rear sight and "32 CAL" at the breech. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1873", and the lower tang has the serial number. The brass cartridge elevator is marked "32 CAL." Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate with compartment (cleaning rod not included).

Fine. The rifle retains 50% original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the balance. 30% of the original nitre blue remains on the loading gate. The reoiled wood is very good showing some scattered chipping along the grain and some minor handling marks. The action functions fine but needs work as the hammer releases from the half cock position when trigger is pulled.
