The factory letter confirms the configuration, September 7, 1891, date of serialization, and that it was received in the warehouse and shipped on October 21, 1891, as part of order number 13141. This Winchester Model 1886 lever action rifle in 45-90 has the casehardened frame and an extra long 32 inch barrel. It is fitted with German silver blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights on a barrel marked with the two-line address ahead of the rear sight and "45-90 W.C.F." at the breech. The upper tang is marked "-MODEL 1886," and the lower tang has the serial number and two-line patent information. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.

Very good. The refinished remarked barrel address barrel retains half of the streaked blue finish with a mix of smooth brown and gray patinas on the balance. The frame retains traces of original case colors in the protected areas, otherwise a mottled brown-gray patina. The wood is fine with a couple of cracks along the grain on the forearm and some minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
