The included Cody Firearms Museum Records Office serial number verification form confirms the caliber and Lyman front sight while stating that it has a shotgun buttplate (currently has a carbine buttplate). The rifle was shipped on August 7, 1906, order number 65261. Equipped with a Lyman beaded blade front sight and elevation adjustable rear sight. Standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proof stamped on the barrel and receiver at the breech. Mounted with a smooth walnut Schnabel tip forearm with ebony insert and straight grip stock with crescent steel buttplate.

Very fine. The rifle retains 80% plus original blue finish with the balance between smooth brown and gray patinas. The wood is fine with a couple minor gouges and a number of minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
