Description:

Both swords have gilt brass hilt fittings, no makers marks, and a ribbed grip. 1) Eagle Head Sword, 31 1/2 inches overall, with a 37 inch straight single fuller blade with gold washed etching on a niter blue field, ball guard, "screaming eagle" style pommel, and an antique ivory grip. 2) Eagle Head Sword, 33 1/2 inches overall, 28 inch curved single fuller blade, pierced-through guard, bone grip and a brass furnished leather scabbard.

Rating Definition:

1) Fair, with a mixed patina and spotting on the blade, 40% of the niter blue, about half of the gilt, and some light chips and cracks on the grip. 2) Fair as cleaned, with a mixed gray patina on the blade, showing light spotting and a few edge nicks, over 70% of the gilt hilt finish with well aged brass on the remainder, a few light chips on the grip and some cracking and tearing of the well aged scabbard.
