This revolver was manufactured in 1875 and has a scarce pair of DeGress "horse head" cast grips made of copper alloy plated in silver with the 1874 patent marking on the top left, a shield on the bottom left, a horse head and floral designs on the right, and scroll designs throughout. The revolver has the two-line barrel address flanked by crosses, standard sights, matching serial numbers on the barrel and grip frame, "2123" on the rear of the cylinder, "30 CAL" on the right side of the frame by the hammer, and a very faint "NEW LINE 30" marking on the left side of the barrel. DeGress grips are very rare and were only manufactured for a short period in the late 19th century. They are highly sought after by collectors and come in several patterns.

Fine as period replated with 95% of the nickel plating, minor flaking, and light scratches. The exposed metal has dark patina. The grips are mostly an aged bronze patina and have traces of original silver and mild handling wear. It is mechanically excellent and has mostly clear markings.
