Manufactured circa 1877. The top of the barrel rib is marked "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD. MASS. U.S.A. PAT. JULY 10.60. JAN. 17. FEB. 17. JULY. 11 65 & AUG. 24. 69. The matching assembly number "37" is marked on the rear cylinder face, barrel and barrel latch. Blade front and latch notch rear sights, nickel finish with blue latch, and casehardened hammer and trigger guard. Fitted with smooth walnut grips and a lanyard ring on the butt. The accompanying factory letter verifies the barrel length, nickel finish, walnut grips and that it was shipped as 1 of 80 revolvers (60 blue, 20 nickel) to M.W. Robinson, Smith & Wesson's largest distributor in New York City on March 24, 1877.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 97% plus of the original nickel finish, showing some minor flaking on the cylinder and barrel, and overall some scattered minor scratches and dings. The hammer retains 70% vivid original case colors with a smooth gray patina on the balance and the trigger guard shows strong vivid original case colors in protected areas with a smooth mottled gray patina on the balance. The grips are very fine showing some mild handling wear and a few minor dings. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
