Description:

The factory letter indicates this revolver was shipped on September 22, 1880, to Don Jose in Vallro, Cuba, in a large order for Spanish controlled Cuba in the current configuration. The revolver has the standard factory markings and sights, an added "867" marking on the butt (likely an government inventory number or unit), correct checkered grips (right panel numbered "59" suggesting the grips were switched likely with another early revolver shipped to Cuba), rack and gear extractor, and "53" on the barrel and barrel latch. There is a good chance this revolver was used in Cuba during the Spanish-American War.

Rating Definition:

Good. The revolver has traces of original blue finish and primarily dark brown patina. There are patches of mild oxidation and pitting. The grips are fair and have lightly smoothed checkering, small dings and marks, and some strike marks on the butt. Mechanically fine and has mostly crisp markings.
