Description:

Manufactured in 1875. The top of the barrel is marked with the one-line Hartford address flanked by crosses. There is correctly no caliber marking on the left side. The left side of the frame is marked with the two-line, two-patent dates, and the left trigger guard shoulder is marked "45 CAL". Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard and back strap and the partial number "9678" on the cylinder. The barrel has the partial serial number "9678" stamped ahead of "7329". This is clearly of the period and was possibly done by the retailer or Colt. Early "bullseye" ejector rod head, blade front and frame notch rear sights, and fitted with a one-piece smooth walnut grip.

Rating Definition:

Very good as period rebarrelled. The revolver retains 50% period nickel finish mixed with dark brown patina. The grip is also good with some wear and a few nicks on the lower edges, a narrow chip on the upper right side, and overall a few minor dings, dents and scratches. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
