Description:

These revolvers were manufactured by Henry Deringer's great grandson I. Jones Clark after Henry Deringer's death in 1868. Production ended in the late 1870s after an estimated 6,900 .22 caliber revolvers and 4,000 .32 caliber revolvers were completed. They are clearly based on Smith & Wesson's tip-up revolver patterns. Both are marked "DERINGER PHILADA" on the top of the ribs and have German silver blade front sights and integral notch rear sights. The grips have high gloss varnish. Matching serial numbers are located on the butts, back of the barrel lugs, and front/rear of the cylinders.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 98% plus of the original nickel plating remains on the frame. The case colors on the trigger have faded to a gray patina, but the rear half of the ejector pin retain vibrant original case colors. The barrel and cylinder retain 60% of the original blue finish and have gray and brown patina where the finish has flaked. The grips are very good with attractive figure and high polish, and they exhibit scattered minor scuffs and edge wear. It is mechanically fine and has crisp markings.

The grips are fine and retain 75% of the original glossy finish with some minor surface flaking, mild wear on the raised edges, and some very small chips at the edges. It is mechanically excellent and has crisp markings.
