Description:

This pistols were manufactured in the mid-19th century by the Chatellerault Arsenal in central France for the French Navy. They have back action locks with standard arsenal markings, "MN" marked on the right barrel flats, "1850" (A) and "1851" (B) marked on the upper right barrel flats ahead of the integral bolsters, French proof and inspection marks, blade and notch sights, chain secured ramrods, belt clips, and lanyard rings on the pommels.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The iron is partially bright and has gray and brown patina and some light pitting and oxidation. The brass has aged patina. There are generally minor dings and scratches throughout. The stock is very good with scattered pressure marks and scratches. It is mechanically fine and has mostly crisp markings.

Fine overall. The iron is partially bright with mottled gray and brown patina and some minor pitting and oxidation. The brass has aged patina throughout. There are scattered marks and light scratches throughout the metal and wood. It is mechanically fine and has mostly crisp markings.
