This is an example of a period, possibly factory engraved Mauser side latch Model 1910 pocket pistol with leather covered presentation case. The pistol is fully engraved in a very unusual, non-traditional floral and vine pattern engraving that is almost indicative of French engraving intermixed with a crosshatched geometric type embellishments and silver borders that cover almost the entire exposed metal surfaces. The left side of the slide has the standard one line, heavy/deep Mauser factory address lettering, and the Mauser Banner logo is on the frame. The top left side of the slide has also been engraved "GERMANY." The factory proofmarks were either not applied or have been engraved over. It is serial numbered on the front left side of the slide and the matching last three digits of the serial number on the takedown latch, the barrel lug, and rear of the slide. It has been fitted with a set of black plastic grips, that are checkered in the center of the each side and have a fine silver border around the edge of the grips and grip screw and small fine mother of pearl insets at the top and bottom edges of each grip panel. It comes with one unmarked, nickel plated magazine. As noted, it is housed in a small leather covered storage/presentation case that is marked in gold lettering on the lower front edge of the case: MAUSER SELBSTLADE-PISTOLE/KALIBR 6,35MM". The case has a French fitted green felt interior that holds the pistol and a spare magazine (which is missing).

Very fine with 85% of the blue finish overall showing wear and blue loss on all the edges and high spots and fading and a gray patina on the front grip strap. The smaller parts retain 65% of their heat blued colors overall. The grips are in very good condition with the silver wire and mother of pearl inlays all complete. The top left upper corner of the grip has been cracked/broken off and is held in place by the safety release button. The case is also in very good condition with 85% of the outside leather cover complete and showing numerous small scratches and light pressure dents and some areas of flaking of the leather surface. The markings are clear with the last part of "PISTOLE" having been repaired. The interior has faded and shows light wear overall. An attractive engraved Mauser Model 1910 pocket pistol.
