Description:

This is a very fine example of a late production 1930 Commercial Mauser Broomhandle pistol chambered in the rare 8.15 mm cartridge. This was short lived cartridge developed by the Mauser factory and was dropped in favor of the standard 9 mm Luger cartridge. The chamber areas is marked "WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF A/N," and the left side is marked with a "crown/U" proof on the lower left flat. The serial number is stamped on the rear of the bolt. The left rear frame panel is stamped with the Mauser Banner logo, and the right side of the frame is marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/OBERNDORF A. NECKAR/D.R.P.u.A.P." The "crown/U" proof is repeated on the top of the bolt handle. Integral blade front sight and tangent rear sight graduated from 50 to 1,000 meters. All blue finish and fitted with set of unnumbered standard 12 groove walnut grips and lanyard ring on the butt.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 95% of the blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear with cold blue touch-up on the underside of the barrel and sides of the frame rails from being in a holster, and a silver patina on the rear grip strap. The grips are also in very fine condition with light honey color on both sides, minor light handling marks, and a few light pressure dents. Mechanically excellent. Additional information: this pistol is chambered in 8.15 mm Mauser cartridge and the bore measures at .320 inch diameter.
