Produced in very limited quantities, this particular 9mm PP shows a mix of early and late features, in particular the button style magazine catch (standard on 7.65mm PP/PPKs but phased out in favor of the bottom hook style catch on the 9mm) and the extension pins on the chamber (introduced for and exclusive to the 9mm, intended to assist in cartridge feeding). On the exterior the pistol appears nearly identical to the standard 7.65mm PP, with the "9 m/m" added to the standard markings and a "MADE IN GERMANY" American export mark on the trigger guard in addition to the ring hammer, 90 degree safety, checkered Walther banner grips and a flat base magazine with proper side notch for the button catch. This pistol is not among the numbers listed in Rankin's "Walther Models PP and PPK 1929-1945".

Very fine with 80% of the original blue finish showing a mixed brown and gray patina on the grip straps and chamber, some bright edge wear, scattered light spotting and mild handling marks overall. The grips are also very fine with a few light dings. Mechanically excellent.
