Description:

Rare in any configuration, this particular 9mm Model PP also features a scarce aluminum alloy "duralumin" frame, traditionally seen only on early production 9mm PPs, as the majority used the more traditional steel frame. Additionally, the left side of the trigger guard bears a "MADE IN GERMANY" commercial marking, a common sign of a German pistol destined for the American market. Fixed sights and 60 degree safety on the slide, with the Walther banner, address, model and "9 m/m" caliber markings on the left side and proper hand-scribed matching number on the interior. The barrel is marked "Nichrosten", with "crown/N" proofs on the chamber, slide and muzzle and a pair of Walther banner grips. A flat-base magazine is included, properly marked and without a cut for a button release. The pistol is listed by serial number on page 80 of Rankin's "Walther Models PP and PPK 1929-1945", with the trigger guard marking called out in particular.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 90% of the original blue finish on the slide, showing some mild edge wear and spotting, and 80% of the black anodized frame finish, showing similar edge wear, faded areas on the grip straps, and traces of an old protective varnish coating, with mild handling marks overall. The grips are fine, with a few mild scuffs. The hold-open needs adjustment, otherwise fine mechanically.
