Manufactured in 1939, the primary differences between this pistol and the standard issue Wehrmacht P.08 Luger are in the markings, specifically in the use of the commercial "crown/crown/U" proofs instead of the military "eagle" stamps, double-sided "GELADEN" extractor marking and the "RUST/>>>-->" marked upper safety area, all features associated with pre-World War II contract sales to the Netherlands. One of the neutral nations of Europe, the Netherlands got attacked without a declaration of war alongside Belgium and Luxembourg in 1940 in direct violation of a standing agreement with the Germans. Equipped with fixed sights, a "MAUSER" banner toggle, "1939" dated chamber, straw finished small parts, checkered grips and a blued Haenel magazine with an unmarked alloy base.

Fine as arsenal refurbished, with 80% of the blue, showing mild spotting, areas of brown patina and scattered handling marks. The straw components retain over 75% of the original color, with some edge wear. The grips are good replacements, with a mended chip near the safety and mild dents. Mechanically excellent.
