Manufactured in 1918. Fixed blade front and flat top rear sights with the three-line Colt patent dates and Remington Arms address on either side of the circled "REMINGTON/UMC" trademark on the left side of the slide and "MODEL OF 1911/U.S. ARMY CALIBER .45" on the right. The frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", "E.E.C." and "eagle head/E28" on the left side with "E" on the trigger guard. The chamber of the replacement barrel is stamped with "H" and "P" inspection proofs Fitted with a wide checkered hammer, short grip safety, long trigger, flat smooth mainspring housing with a lanyard loop, and a pair of checkered double diamond grips. The pistol includes a period correct lanyard and a 1916 pattern brown leather holster embossed "US" on the flap inside an oval.

Fine with 40% original blue finish remaining, clear markings, handling marks, edge and high point wear, and scattered spotting. The slide has aged to a mostly mottled gray patina, and the grip straps are a smooth brown. The grips are fair with well defined checkering, handling marks, small dings, and a few larger bruises. Mechanically excellent. The holster is fine with small scuffs throughout, flexible leather, tight stitching, and handling marks. The leg thong has been tied around the body of the holster and is stiff.
