Description:

The barrel is marked "S.A./flaming bomb/11-18". With a fixed blade front and folding ladder rear sights with volley notch. The front receiver ring is marked "U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903/MARK I" over the serial number. Mounted on the correct Mark I style straight grip stock, with a recess below the ejection port for the Pedersen Device. One piece walnut stock with grasping grooves and full length handguard. Marked with a boxed "D.A.L." inspection cartouche, as well as the standard circled "P" acceptance stamp on the underside of the wrist. The buttstock is also marked "4H298" on the comb. Fitted with a smooth steel buttplate with trapdoor. Disconnector sear and unique cutoff are all present.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 60% mix of brown and gray/green parkerized finishes showing scattered scratches, areas of edge wear, small dings and some light red/brown oxidation. The wood is also fine with legible cartouche displaying moderate indentations and scratches throughout. The handguard has several cracks running approximately 2/3 the total length on top. Mechanically fine. This rifle would compliment your Pedersen Device just fine!
