Description:

20,400 Model 1819 pattern pistols were manufactured by Simeon North in Middletown, Connecticut, in 1819-1823. This is the first U.S. model to use the swivel mounted ramrod used into the early 1850s. This 1821 dated example has the standard features and markings including "LH" and an oval "LS" inspector's cartouche on the left stock flat. "JDJ/P/US" is stamped near the breech. An appraisal from James H. Cohen & Sons, Inc. is included.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The metal is mostly bright with light pitting visible primarily at the vent and some dark residue on the lock. The stock is good as repaired and revarnished and has some cracking at the tail of the lock, a repaired break through the wrist, and scattered minor scrapes and dings. It is mechanically fine. The markings are crisp.
