Description:

Manufactured in 1944. The carbine has mostly late features including fixed blade front and stamped adjustable rear sights, Winchester "WP" proofed barrel, low wood four-rivet handguard, "M" marked magazine catch, "EW" marked push button safety, and a milled trigger group with the oiler hole. The rear of the receiver has the standard Winchester company name over the serial number and "AW" subcontractor stamped on the receiver bevel. This indicates the receiver was manufactured by Underwood and purchased by Winchester after Underwood had completed their final serial number block. Mounted on an oil finished walnut pistol grip stock with an oval oiler cut out. The right side of the stock is stamped "W.R.A./G.H.D." on the right side next to the crossed cannons Ordnance acceptance stamp and the sling cutout on the left is stamped with a small "W". Includes a green canvas web sling.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 95% plus arsenal refurbished parkerized finish remains with some small handling marks, light edge and high point wear, and cycling marks on the bolt and receiver rails. The wood is very good as lightly sanded and re-oiled with clear markings, scattered small indentations, and a chip missing at the left side of the forend. Mechanically excellent.
