The included Colt factory letter confirms that this Python "was a sample and display revolver kept by the Colt factory". The letter also confirms the finish, caliber, barrel length, standard markings, grips, cylinder safety disk, warning tag and box marked "Archives." The revolver was released from the factory collection in 2008. Front sight with orange insert, adjustable rear sight and checkered Colt medallion Pachmayr "Gripper" grips. The letter incorrectly refers to the box as a "wood grain" type, but the end label is numbered to the gun and hand marked "Archives 148712."

Excellent. The revolver shows a noticeable cylinder drag line and a few minor handling marks. The grips are near new with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fair showing water staining and areas of paper loss. Nearly all of the end label remains, and the printing is clear.
