The included factory letter confirms the 4 inch barrel with standard markings, blue finish, checkered wraparound grips with gold plated Rampant Colt medallions, Rampant Colt with V motif marked on the left side plate, cylinder safety disk and "wood grain" box. The revolver was a sample and display piece kept by the Colt factory. Records indicate that the revolver was delivered to the factory archives and signed for by J. Mladek on 13 October 1982, and the revolver was released from the factory inventory in 2008. The box is numbered to the gun.

Excellent. The revolver retains 99% plus original blue finish showing a light cylinder drag line. The grips are also excellent with a spot of wear in the finish near the bottom (left panel). The checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent. The box is good showing wear overall and some separation on the flaps. The end label has been taped to the box.
