This revolver is consecutively numbered to the previous lot and was manufactured in 1956, the second year of Second Generation production. It has the standard markings and features and comes with a matching numbered factory black box with matching end label and factory papers. Only 2,881 revolvers in this configuration were manufactured between 1955 and 1975. The .38 Special revolvers were less popular after the .357 Magnum was offered in the Second Generation lineup starting in 1960.

Excellent with 98% plus of the original blue and casehardened finish remaining. There are some light rotation scratches and minor cylinder drag lines. The grips are also excellent with some mild aging and sharp checkering. There are some faint handling and storage markings throughout. The box is very good and has some minor storage wear, especially at the edges, and some small tape repairs on one corner.
