This rifle has an "1883" dated cartouche on the left side of the stock and the standard markings and features. The front sight also has an added cover like those seen on the Model 1884 experimental rifles.

Very fine overall. 80% of the original blue finish and 50% plus of the original case colors remain. There are minimal marks and scratches throughout and a few small surface chips on the stock. The rear sight leaf spring is cracked, otherwise the rifle is mechanically excellent and the markings are crisp.
