Manufactured in 1923. This Winchester Deluxe Model 1892 has special order checkered deluxe forearm and pistol grip stock, 1/2 magazine, and a shotgun butt. The left side of the barrel ahead of the rear sight is marked with the two line address/patent date and ".38 W.C.F." at the breech. The top of the barrel and receiver at the breech are marked with the Winchester oval proof. The upper tang is marked with the three line model/maker/patent information, and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. Pinned blade front sight and folding ladder rear sight graduated to 200 yards. Blue finish with casehardened hammer and lever. Saddle ring and staple on the left side of the receiver. The stock is fitted with a hard rubber Winchester grip cap and a checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. Apparently, there is a gap from serial number 917241 to 1006822 in the Winchester records, and therefore this carbine will not letter. However, the writer's opinion is that this carbine is original.

Very good. The carbine retains 30% original blue finish with areas thinning to a smooth brown patina and some muzzle, edge, and saddle ring wear. The lever has a smooth mottled brown patina with strong traces of original case colors in protected areas. The wood is also very good with a few small hairline age cracks in the stock and overall some scattered minor dents and dings. The checkering is crisp. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
