Manufactured in 1904. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address ahead of the rear sight and "44 W.C.F." at the breech. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1892/-WINCHESTER-/PAT. OCT. 14, 1884.", and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. Blade front and adjustable buckhorn rear sights, full magazine, blue finish with a casehardened hammer and lever, and mounted with a highly figured straight grip walnut forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate. The accompanying factory letter verifies the takedown rifle configuration, caliber, octagon barrel, plain trigger, that is was received in the warehouse on July 22, 1904, and shipped to order number 259170 on November 15, 1904.

Very fine. The rifle retains 80% original blue finish with some muzzle and edge wear, some scratches and minor flaking on the receiver, some scratching on the left side of the magazine tube, and some scattered minor spotting on the receiver, upper tang and takedown ring. The wood is also very fine with most of the finish remaining and some scattered minor dings and dents. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
