Third Model manufactured in 1887 and fitted with an extremely rare 32 inch special order octagon barrel. It is estimated that only 600 Model 1873 rifles were manufactured with barrels longer than the standard lengths. Dovetailed brass blade front sight and adjustable sporting rear sight. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address/King's Improvement patent dates and "32 W.C.F." at the breech. The bottom of the brass cartridge elevator is marked "32 CAL", the upper tang is marked "MODEL. 1873," and the serial number is on the lower tang. Blue finish, full length magazine tube, and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Fair. The metal surfaces have a dark patina with some bright wear on the receiver and overall minor pitting. The wood is also good with a few minor gouges on the forearm and overall some scattered minor dents, dings and scratches. The markings are clear. The action functions but is slightly loose.
