Finish: brown
Grip:
Stock: maple

Description:

This rifle was built without any frills to minimize the original owner's expense. It was not fitted with a trigger guard, ramrod entry pipe, nose cap, side plate, buttplate, or toe plate because these parts are technically unnecessary. It has a smooth-bored octagon barrel with rifle sights for use with shot, buck shot, patched round balls, or buck and ball loads; a plain lock and bolster, and a nicely figured maple stock with a single ramrod pipe.

Rating Definition:

Good with dark brown patina and moderate pitting on the iron, attractive striped figure on the stock, spliced repairs at the entry point of the ramrod and just ahead of the second rearmost barrel pin, chipping at some of the pin holes, and scattered dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
