Description:

Manufactured in 1862. The one-line "NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA" address is on the top of the barrel. The left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT," and the left trigger guard shoulder is marked "36 CAL.". The complete matching serial number is marked on the barrel lug, frame, trigger guard, and back strap. The cylinder pin and wedge are marked with the partial serial number "0999." Silver plated brass grip straps and fitted with a varnished one-piece walnut grip. The back strap is inscribed "Capt. C.R. Powell." Although Captain C.R. Powell could not be definitively identified, one possibility is the captain of the steamer Talamicco circa 1859 in the vicinity of Augusta, Georgia. Comes with an open toe leather flap holster.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The revolver has a smooth brown-gray patina. There are a few scattered patches of mild pitting. One of the two frame pins is missing. There is slight play in the cylinder; otherwise, the action cycles properly. The aged cracked holster is fair. The stitching is tight.
