Colt's Third Model Derringer was the most popular of their three .41 rimfire pocket pistols. Around 48,000 were manufactured between 1870 and 1912. It was initially advertised as "Colts New Deringer." This example has the high hammer, a small British proof on the bottom of the barrel, and otherwise standard markings and features.

Fine. The barrel retains 50% plus of the original blue finish and has gray and brown patina on the balance. The frame has traces of aged, original silver plating and otherwise aged patina on the exposed brass. The hammer and trigger have 60% of original niter blue finish. The grips are also fine and have minor edge wear and handling marks. The action is mechanically fine, and the markings are crisp.
