The lock plate is marked "SHARPE/&/KEENE" (Birmingham, 1807-1811) ahead of the hammer, and there is a leaf motif engraving at the tail of the lock. The ramrod pipes, trigger guard, side plate, buttplate and forend cap are brass. Mounted on a near full length straight grip stock of dark tiger stripe walnut featuring checkering on the wrist, three barrel wedges and a flat buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good as reconverted. Overall, the musket has a smooth dark brown patina with the barrel showing traces of a twist pattern. There is some minor pitting which is heavier on the breech of the refinished barrel. The brass has a mixed dark aged patina. The stock is good with a small chip missing near the buttstock toe, a crack on the underside near the forend cap and some minor pressure dents and scratches. There are a few blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. The ramrod is absent. Mechanically fine.
