This is an example of a 1936 "S/42" P.08 Luger that has a custom, post war type frame presentation inscription on the left side. The fine small inscription reads: "Gunther Rnucheim/26 May 1936" and the right side frame rail is marked "Mauser Werke A.G. Oberndorf a/N". We cannot identify the inscription, but the Luger itself has a 1936 chamber date and "S/42" marked front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the standard early Mauser factory "Eagle/63" inspection and acceptance proofs, and only a questionable single "Crown U" proof is on the left side which is also stamped on the underside of the barrel. The Luger has the correct safety and extractor markings and is complete with two unmarked nickel plated magazines with aluminum bases. The original serial numbers on the bases of both magazines have been ground off, and it has been restamped with single "Crown/U" commercial proof followed by "m/+/Eagle 63" Waffenamt proof. This Luger is complete with an excellent 1936 dated smooth black leather holster that is marked on back "Kern KlagerG.cie/1936 Berlin" over a single "eagle/WaA" Waffenamt proof. Inside the flap is also lightly written "FERDINAND ZECHA/5907." The holster has a WWII Nazi proofed takedown tool inside that has a small "eagle/63" Waffenamt proof.

Very fine as custom inscribed with 98% of the professionally restored blue finish overall. The smaller parts retain 98% of their restored straw colors. Mechanically excellent. The holster is in excellent condition.
