A takedown variant of the Type 99 Arisaka designed to be carried disassembled by paratroopers when jumping and then put together on the ground. Blade front and folding rear sights with anti-aircraft wings, with a ground mum on the receiver. The takedown hardware is assembly numbered "138" and the bayonet lug, barrel and bolt are numbered "502" to match the receiver. Smooth pistol grip stock with a cupped buttplate.

Very fine with 80% of the original blue finish showing areas of brown patina, mild spotting, light edge wear and minor handling marks. The mum is ground off. The stock is also very fine with a dew mild dings and chips overall as well as the word "BUD" added to the right side of the buttstock with a series of punch holes. Mechanically excellent.
