Dated "1938" on the chamber with the "S/42" code on the toggle. Military "eagle/63" proofs on the barrel and extension, "droop wing eagle" firing proofs on the barrel, extension, and breechblock and commercial "crown/crown/U" proofs on the left side of the extension and underside of the barrel. These markings are unusual to see on a military proofed Luger, and may be components left over from a Weimar-era commercial run re-used for military production. Component finish is full blue, with checkered grips, a blue finished alloy base magazine, and matching external numbers, including the magazine base, which also bears a combination of "stick eagle/83" military and "crown/crown/U" Weimar commercial proofs.

Very fine as partially refinished, the grips straps and side plate, with the balance showing 95% plus blue finish, with some mild edge wear, a few rough spots beneath the finish, light handling marks and traces of old storage grease. The grips are excellent, with a few minor dings and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
