Manufactured in 1914. The two-line, two-block address and patent dates are on the left side of the slide along with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, and the serifed "MODEL OF 1911. U.S.ARMY" on the right. The left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "WGP" (Penfield) and the chamber of the barrel is marked "P H." It has a wide knurled hammer, short grip safety, flat mainspring housing with lanyard staple, long smooth trigger, checkered slide catch and thumb safety, checkered grips with diamond flats, and an unmarked two-tone magazine. The right grip panel is stamped "1/B/3" around the upper screw.

Fine, with 60% plus of the original blue finish, showing a mixed gray patina around the grip area, the underside of the trigger guard, and on the upper right side of the slide, bright edge/holster wear, scattered spotting and mild handling marks. The grips are very good, with scratches and light chips on the right panel, an area near the upper left screw smoothly dished out (possibly from thumb contact), and mild dings and scuffs overall. Mechanically excellent.
