Manufactured by Remington for the United States Army and later overhauled at the Rock Island Arsenal. The sights are properly absent from the barrel and receiver, with "R A/bomb/9 43" on the barrel and the receiver bearing the properly offset "U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3" marking on the left side of the receiver ring, though with the "3" X'd out and a "4" added next to it. The bolt shows "R" and "BP" markings, with the correct profile bolt handle and safety lever to clear the scope, a Weaver 330 M-8 in twist-off rings mounted on a "US (bomb)" marked base. Smooth double bolt pistol grip stock with a circled "P" behind the trigger guard, "RA", "Ordnance crossed cannons" and "FJA" on the left side ahead of the wrist, "RIA/EB" on the left side of the buttstock, a Commercial Carlos Hathcock brand leather sling and a checkered steel buttplate.

Very good as remarked (see above) and arsenal refurbished with 95% of the gray parkerized finish showing some scattered light handling marks and mild edge wear overall. The sanded, reoiled stock is fair with a small area of filler on the right side near the bayonet lug and a few mild dings and scuffs. Optics are very good with mild wear on the exterior of the tube. Mechanically excellent.
