Description:

Originally produced in August of 1944, this M1 rifle has been upgraded to the M1D Sniper configuration, a procedure more typically performed on Springfield-made M1 receivers. Rifles so converted were used as sniper weapons during Korea and the Vietnam War. Blade front and peep rear sights with a "WC E" windage drum, Winchester bolt, trigger guard, hammer, housing, operating rod and "S-A-9-51" dated barrel. An M84 Telescopic Sight is included, serial numbered "6333" with sunshield and rubber eyepiece. Smooth stock with a circled "P" on the wrist, a brown leather sling, a "K/LINE" marked leather cheekpiece (not screwed down), and a checkered buttplate with cleaning tools. Also included is an "H" marked M2 flash hider, a green canvas Model 1950 jump case dated 1968, and a shipping box hand numbered to gun with stenciled military-style M1D nomenclature.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished with 95% of the parkerized finish showing some mild edge wear and handling marks. The stock is excellent with mild wear and some verdigris buildup on and around the cheekpiece and sling. The optics are crisp and clear with minor external wear. The box shows wear and staining appropriate to age and travel, some torn-off labels and cut tape, and the jump case is very good. Mechanically excellent.
