Manufactured in 1925, and shipped as part of a 12-piece order to Simmons Hardware Company of St. Louis, Missouri on March 24, 1926. Unusually, the letter verifies the "rubber" grips and includes the note "Sold to: Wm. Seegers", both rare pieces of information to find in the old Colt ledgers. Seegers has not been identified. Features standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, two-line address and patent dates on top of the barrel, and "NEW SERVICE 45 COLT" on the left side of the barrel. The left side plate is marked with the Rampant Colt. The right side of the frame has had "C.E./7-12-26" roughly scratched on it. Fitted with a set of checkered grips with "COLT" molded at the top.

Very fine with 95% original blue finish, small handling marks, the above mentioned "graffiti", mild muzzle wear, and small cylinder drag line. The grips are excellent with mostly light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
