Manufactured in 1916. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line/three-patent date marking, and the left side is marked "NEW SERVICE 44-40". The Rampant Colt appears on the left side of the frame. The matching serial number is marked on the frame and crane as well as the back of each grip panel. Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, lanyard ring on the butt, and fitted with checkered grips with "COLT" molded at the top of each panel

Fine with 60% of the original blue finish displaying some areas of a mottled blue/gray patina on the barrel and frame, edge and high point wear, handling marks, and clear markings. The grips are also fine with light handling marks and some small dings. Mechanically excellent.
