Originally manufactured in Germany, the single square bridge receiver and bolt for this rifle passed through the Proof House at Birmingham post-1904, and finished out as an Express-style rifle with a barrel from Paul Jaeger of Philadelphia. Hooded ramp bead front sight and unnumbered 3-leaf (one fixed two folding) rear sight, with the Jaeger "P. JAEGER PHILA.PA." address on top of the barrel and "375 H&H" engraved on the left side near the breech. The receiver is textured across the top with a square rear bridge, the one-line address on the left side, and matching full and partial numbers on the bolt and floor plate. Fitted with a checkered pistol grip stock with a contrasting horn tip, steel grip cap, brown leather sling and a Hawkins-brand recoil pad.

Very fine as custom built, with 97% of the high polish custom blue finish, showing some light handling marks and spotting overall. The refinished stock is fine, with some mild dings, sharp recut checkering some varnished loss, and fine grain. Mechanically excellent.
