Features a single bead sight on the concave matte rib barrels with 2 3/4 inch chambers, ejectors, and full/full chokes. The top of the barrel rib is marked "SIMSON, SUHL (THURINGEN)". The barrel flats are stamped with standard post-war commercial German proofs and the proof date "11 58". The coin gray receiver features detailed game scene engraving with quail on the right, ducks on the left, and pheasant on the bottom. The balance is engraved with light flowing scroll and wavy line borders. Mounted on a multi-point checkered Schnabel tip forearm and pistol grip stock with sling swivels, plastic grip cap, raised cheekpiece, and a solid rubber recoil pad. The barrel and stock dimensions are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .716/.715 inches; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .042/.0425 inches; drop at comb 1 5/8 inches; drop at heel 3 inches; length of pull 15 1/2 inches.

Very fine with 98% of the original blue finish on the barrels, light handling marks, and small scattered surface scratches. The receiver has crisp engraving, light handling marks and some spotting on the underside. The refinished wood is very good with sharp checkering, small dings, and the added recoil pad. Mechanically excellent.
