This is an absolutely fabulous Remington Arms Model "8F" premier grade semi-automatic rifle manufactured in 1910. This Model 8 was special ordered as a Grade F "Premier" rifle with a master-quality hand-fitted, fancy checkered walnut furniture and fine American scroll and game scene engraving performed by the Remington Custom Shop. The highest grade of work the Custom Shop performed on the Model 8, the Premier 8F was the domain of the shooter willing to go the extra mile for a high-class semi-automatic rifle. Blade front and adjustable folding leaf rear sights, with the two-line address on top of the barrel shroud in an engraved panel, a 1 1/2 inch long ring of leaf-pattern engraving around the breech and a set of 2 1/2 inch scroll wedges running up the sides. The receiver shows over 90% coverage of fine punch-dot backed scroll engraving with dotted checkerboard borders, starburst-pattern screws and pins, and a floral motif on the safety lever hinge. Five game scenes are present: a leaping stag and a standing stag in individual panels on the left side, a leaping doe and a walking bear on the right, and a close-up of a snarling bear's head on top. The initials "WHF" are stamped on the lower receiver tang immediately rear of the trigger guard. A Marbles short range peep sight is installed on the upper tang. Checkered extra-fancy walnut stock with a Schnabel tip forearm, a contrasting 5-pointed badge shaped star inlay on the right, unmarked golden inscription oval and a checkered hard rubber Remington buttplate.

Exceptionally fine with 95% plus of the original blue finish showing light handling marks overall and a few areas of brown patina on the barrel shroud. A dent is present in the left side of the barrel shroud near the muzzle along with a few other light dings and scuffs. The engraving is all excellent, deep and sharply executed. The stock is fine with the forearm numbered to another rifle. A small chip is behind the lower tang. A few tiny hairline cracks are near the upper tang and there is mild scuffing. Mechanically excellent.
