Description:

Manufactured in 1887. Features a heavy # 3 octagon barrel with a windage adjustable front globe sight and no provisions for a rear sight. The top barrel flat is marked with the two-line address, and the caliber designation "25-20 S.S." is marked at the breech. The upper tang marking is covered by a mid-range peep sight. The serial number is marked on the lower tang and "PAT. OCT. 7TH 79" is directly behind the trigger. Mounted with a checkered extra fancy walnut Schnabel forearm with ebony insert and pistol grip stock with a cheekpiece and nickel finished two prong Swiss style buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel retains 90% of the original blue finish with some thinning. 98% original bright case colors remain on the receiver and 80% original faded case colors remain on the lever. The wood is also very fine with a few scattered minor dents and dings, and crisp checkering. 98% original frosted nickel remains on the buttplate. The markings are sharp. The action is excellent.
