According to the included factory letter, this revolver was shipped as a single item to the Iver Johnson Sporting Goods Company of Boston, Massachussets on December 27, 1907. Features the two-line address and patent dates on top of the barrel, "NEW SERVICE 38 W.C.F." on the left side of the barrel and fixed blade and frame notch sights. The left side plate is marked with the Rampant Colt with "COLT'S/NEW SERVICE". Fitted with checkered grips with "COLT" molded at the top of each panel. Matching serial numbers are on the frame and crane as well as scratched on the back of each grip panel.

Very fine with 95% bright, original, high polish blue finish, some light handling marks, traces of high point and edge wear, and a small cylinder drag line. The front sight has been filed down half way and cold blued. The grips are also excellent with small handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
